Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) Programme
The Bachelor of Education programme, generally known as B.Ed., is a professional course offered for those interested in pursuing career in teaching and prepares teachers for upper primary or middle level (classes V(-VIII), secondary (Classes IX-X) and senior secondary (Class XI-XII) levels. The Bachelor of Education Programme aims at developing knowledge attitude and skills required by teachers for effective teaching-learning process at the school level. The programme provides knowledge and develops in them an understanding if areas such as educational evaluation, school management. The B. Ed. Course is of two academic years. Only 100 students will be admitted in one academic year.
Eligibility
The Eligibility condition for admissions to the B.Ed. Course is as per the new guidelines and norms laid down by the NCTE, New Delhi. The guidelines are as follows.
- Candidates applying for admission to the programme must be graduate from any recognized University in India.
- The candidates with at least 50% marks either in the bachelor’s degree or in the master’s degree or any other qualification equivalent there to, are eligible for admission to the programme.
- There shall be relaxation of 5% marks for SC/ST/OBC candidates.
- The course of study at the degree level must cover one school teaching subject.
- Eligibility Certificates for candidate outside Nagaland University must be obtained from Nagaland University and produced at the time of interview.
- Original Migration Certificate from their respective University must be produced at the time of interview.
How to Apply
- Prospectus and Application forms can be procured from the college office.
- Application form is to be duly filled in and signed by the candidate. Incomplete application is subjected to refection.
- Candidates have to submit the application form along with required documents as written below.
- Photocopy of the matriculation pass certificate showing the date of birth.
- Photocopy of Matriculation mark sheet.
- Photocopy of mark sheet of the last achieved degree.
- Three (3) recent color passport size photographs
- Two (2) recent color Thumb size photographs
- Photocopy of caste certificate..

Rules and Regulation
- Induction programme is held as per the academic calendar of the college.
- The student teachers are required to attend the classes on the opening day of the college.
- A student teacher must maintain minimum 80% of attendance. Students below 80% of attendance will not be allowed to sit for the final examination.
- Attendance and participation in all practical activities and workshops, assignments, club activities is must, failing which the student will be debarred from continuing with the course.
- Internal assessment of each course is based on attendance, participation in all activities/workshop, club activities etc. unit test and assignments.
- Smoking, consumption of alcohol and chewing of pan in and around the campus is prohibited.
- All in service teachers must free themselves from their teaching in order to concentrate fully in completing the course. The students are also advised to settle their personal incontinence before joining the programme.
- All the students’ teachers are directed to maintain a proper dress code.
- Fees once paid shall not be refundable.
